Can Mahesh Beat Ram Charan To Reclaim His Position

Mahesh was able to beat both Magadheera and Attarintiki Daredi with Srimanthudu that went onto become the first Non-Baahubali industry hit.

The record was later broken by Chiranjeevi first and then Ram Charan has set a higher benchmark for Non-Baahubali movies with Rangasthalam.

Mahesh got an opportunity to challenge Rangasthalam with Bharat Ane Nenu, but it couldn’t go that far and fell well short of it.

Now Mahesh fans are hoping that Maharshi will beat Rangasthalam’s records and put Mahesh back on the top. Maharshi has the season advantage as it is releasing in peak summer.

Also it is the first biggie from Tollywood in a long time. All Maharshi needs is to open to good word of mouth to set eyes on the Non-Baahubali records.

Nearly Rs. 100 crore is at stake on the film that has fetched superb deals in almost all the territories.

Nostalgic Ram Charan goes back to his school in Ooty

Actor Ram Charan walked down memory lane as he visited his old school, Lawrence, Lovedale in Ooty (Tamil Nadu) recently. His wife Upasana shared images of the star revisiting his younger days.

Apparently the Rangasthalam actor used to study there until Chiranjeevi moved from Chennai to Hyderabad because the film industry also moved.

The actor spent quality time with the latest batch of students in the school and wished them all success.

He also visited the dormitory, prayer hall, school yard and other places in the school premises and turned nostalgic.

Ram Charan is currently working on the film RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli. The film is made on a budget of Rs 300 crore. The film also stars Jr NTR and it boasts of a huge star cast comprising Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn and Samuthirakani.

Ram Charan was last seen in Vinaya Vidheya Rama, which turned out to be a huge disappointment and was panned by critics.

This is Final Schedule, says Ram Charan

“Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy” will be wrapped up this month. Producer Ram Charan has finally made an official announcement about the movie’s shoot status.

As per his latest statement, the film will commence its final schedule shortly at Kokapet set which was damaged due to a fire breakout on Friday morning.

Contrary to media reports, the set was not fully burned down. It can be restored. Once it is done, the movie’s final leg of shoot will commence.

“Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy” features Megastar Chiranjeevi in the role of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, a provincial ruler in Kurnool rebelled against British authorities in 1840’s.

Ram Charan is producing this movie with a staggering budget of Rs 200 Cr.

“Unfortunately, a fire broke out on our ‘Sye Raa’ set in Kokapet earlier this morning. Thankfully, everyone in the team is safe and no one is hurt. We are really looking forward for our last schedule to finish!!,” Ram Charan posted on Facebook.

Directed by Surender Reddy, ‘Sye Raa’ has Nayanthara, Tamannah, Sudeep, Vijay Sethupathi and Amitabh Bachchan in important roles.

Saaho Heroine Turns down Rajamouli’s Offer

Shraddha Kapoor who is making debut in Tollywood opposite Prabhas in “Saaho” is in much demand.

Though she is good friends with Prabhas, Shraddha reportedly turned down an offer from Prabhas’s guru S S Rajamouli.

According to Bollywood media, Rajamouli offered a role to Shraddha Kapoor for his upcoming film “RRR” to star opposite NTR Jr.

Since Alia Bhatt has been cast opposite Ram Charan in the film and the foreign actress Daisy walked out of the movie for family reasons, Rajamouli reportedly changed his decision not to cast another foreign actress and approached Shraddha Kapoor.

As per Bollywood media, she has turned down the mega project as she is tired of being part of big films that take many months’ time to get finished.

She has been shooting for “Saaho” for the past two years and doesn’t want to do a similar big-budgeted movie like “RRR” that is being mounted on large scale with estimated budget of Rs 350 Cr.

“RRR” has NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn as the principal cast. DVV Danayya is producing this movie.

Daisy Edgar Jones opts out of Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’

International actress Daisy Edgar Jones, who has starred in films such as “Pond Life” and “War of the Worlds”, has opted out of filmmaker S.S. Rajamoulis upcoming action multi-starrer “RRR” citing family reasons.

Daisy took to her Instagram page to share the news of opting out of the film, which stars Ram Charan and Jr. NTR.

“‘RRR’, unfortunately due to family circumstances I am unable to participate in filming for this wonderful film. The script is truly brilliant and it’s such a great character. I hope whomever they cast, receives as warm a welcome as I have and I wish the production all the best,” Daisy posted on her Instagram page.

In the film, Daisy was supposed to be paired with Jr. NTR.

A tweet from the official account of “RRR” read: “Due to unavoidable circumstances, Daisy Edgar Jones is no longer part of our film. We hope she has a brilliant future.”

Last month, speaking to reporters, Rajamouli said that “RRR”, which is being made on a lavish scale, will be a fictional story based on two real-life heroes and freedom fighters – Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem.

“This is a fictional story set in 1920s pre-independence era. Most of us are well aware of the stories of Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem. We know they are popular freedom fighters and were fearless. What most of us don’t know is that there are gaps in the lives of these revolutionaries that we don’t know about. We don’t know what happened in their lives in these years,” Rajamouli said.

“‘RRR’ will be a fictional story of what could have happened in the lives of Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem in those years when they had disappeared. What if they had met and trained themselves to fight for the same cause,” he said.

While Jr. NTR, otherwise known as Tarak, will be seen as Komaram Bheem, Ram Charan will be playing Alluri Seetharama Raju.

“RRR” also stars Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt and Samuthirakani in key roles.

The film will hit the screens worldwide on July 30, 2020 in 10 Indian languages.

Telugu filmdom isn’t male dominated anymore: Rakul

She is just a decade old in southern showbiz, but Rakul Preet Singh has managed to carve a niche for herself. The actress feels there has been a change in the Telugu film industry as it is no more patriarchal.

Rakul made her acting debut with the Kannada film “Gilli” in 2009. She subsequently made her Telugu debut with “Keratam”, later she has starred in Telugu hits like “Venkatadri Express”, “Current Theega”, “Rough”, “Loukyam”, “Kick 2”, “Sarrainodu”, “Nannaku Prematho”, “Dhruva”, “Spyder” and “Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru”.

Asked if she feels the Telugu film industry is hero-centric, Rakul told IANS: “Don’t you think the world is male dominated? I would put it that way and I don’t think that it is hero-centric anymore. Times are changing and there are good films. If you look at a ‘Baahubali’ which was such a big film, the whole thing is about Anushka Shetty’s character being so strong.”

Rakul then praised actresses Nayanthara, Trisha, Kangana Ranaut, Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt for doing some “superb” work.

The 28-year-old said the entire Indian film industry is evolving.

“I think on the whole the film industries across India are changing and there are better roles for women. And I think even in the past there have been. But when you look at the world on the whole I feel largely it is a male-dominated world, but I think things are becoming better now,” she said.

Rakul has also dabbled in Hindi films. She started off with “Yaariyan” as her first Bollywood venture in 2014, followed by “Aiyaary” and her next will be “De De Pyaar De”.

The actress believes there are “good roles” written for girls and she hopes to “crack a few of those”.

Over her journey in the industry, she has managed to work with southern superstars such as Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Ravi Teja and Junior NTR.

She describes working with all of them as “amazing”.

“They are amazing people. Charan, Bunny, Ravi Garo, they are all amazing people and each one excels. They are such amazing dancers. I always joke that they have no bones in their bodies and I think I am friends with all of them. They are very grounded and that’s what gets them the stardom they have,” said Rakul.

NTR Comes in Support Of The Mega Hero

If the buzz from film circles is to be believed, NTR Jr. is likely to grace the pre release event of Chitralahari as the Chief Guest.

NTR has good association with Mythri Movie Makers that made Janatha Garage with him. Hence, Tarak could be the surprise package at the mega event.

One would have expected either Chiranjeevi or Ram Charan to grace the event given how important Chitralahari is for Sai Dharam Tej.

However, mega heroes are deliberately staying away from media to avoid media glare in the wake of Janasena’s participation in AP elections. Therefore, the makers of Chitralahari are seeking Tarak’s help to get the desired buzz.

Chitralahari directed by Kishore Tirumala is surely gaining buzz by the day with impressive teaser promos and DSP’s foot tapping songs.

With so many films to compete with in April, the film needs to gain momentum with every promotional event.

The team is also planning some innovative promotional videos to grab every bit of public attention.

Alia Bhatt Getting What She Demanded in RRR

Alia Bhatt has signed on to play the female lead opposite Ram Charan in Rajamouli’s mega epic period drama which chronicles the early days of freedom fighters Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem.

She was Rajamouli’s first choice but she came on board only recently after producer Danayya and director Rajamouli have agreed to pay what she demanded.

Alia Bhatta reportedly demanded more remuneration than what she gets for a Bollywood movie.

Rajamouli and Danayya have agreed after considering the fact that her presence would help for the movie’s North India market.

“Today I feel truly truly grateful.. Cannot wait to begin this beautiful journey with this stellar cast and massive team.. thank you @ssrajamouli sir for giving me this opportunity to be directed by you,” she thanked Rajamouli on Twitter.

This is the first time in Tollywood that an actress is receiving such huge pay check.
