Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting on internal security at Ministry of Home Affairs in North Block here on Monday.

In the high-level meeting, National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval who was reappointed to the post for five more years and given Cabinet rank in the second term of the NDA government, was also present in the meeting.

On Thursday also Shah had held a high-level meeting on with National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and Home Secretary Rajeev Gauba.

Shortly after taking the charge on June 1, Shah had held a meeting with top officials of the ministry and had discussed a slew of issues related to internal security along with terrorism and Naxalism.

It is worth noting that Kashmir is the focus area for Shah in view of the promises made in the BJP manifesto like abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A of the Constitution.

The Centre’s muscular anti-terror policy pursued in Kashmir is likely to be continued under the new government.

In his first-ever press conference, PM Modi directs all questions at Amit Shah

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed his first press conference today but avoided answering any question. All questions asked during the press conference were instead answered by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah, who was seated next to him.

The press conference was organised at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi.

When the media asked questions to the prime minister, Amit Shah said he need not answer them.

Aaj Tak asked the prime minister in case Sadhvi Pragya wins the Lok Sabha election, will the BJP embrace her or show her the exit door. This was in response to the Prime Minister’s comment earlier in the day where he said he would personally never be able to forgive Sadhvi Pragya for her comments on Mahatma Gandhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he follows discipline and for him party president is everything. The question was then answered by Amit Shah.

“The party has issued her a show-cause notice. When she submits her reply, the party’s disciplinary committee will then take an appropriate decision,” he said.

The media also asked other questions ranging from the election-time violence in West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee’s allegations of BJP attacking Trinamool Congress workers, Congress’s allegations on Rafale deal, among others. These questions too were answered by Amit Shah.

Meanwhile, addressing a live press conference at the same time, Congress president Rahul Gandhi said since PM Modi is now addressing a press conference, he must tell why he is not debating with him on the Rafale deal.

TMC can stop our rallies, but can’t stop BJP’s victory march: Amit Shah

BJP national president Amit Shah on Monday dared West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to arrest him for chanting “Jai Shri Ram”, claiming that the TMC supremo can stop him from attending rallies in Bengal, but won’t be able to stop BJP’s victory march in the state.

Addressing a rally at Canning, which comes under Joynagar Lok Sabha constituency, he said, “Mamata di gets angry if someone chants Jai Shri Ram. I am chanting Jai Shri Ram here today. If you (Mamata) have the guts, arrest me. I will be in Kolkata tomorrow.”

Hitting out at the TMC government over denial of permission for his chopper to land in Baruipur, Shah said, “The Mamata Banerjee government is visibly perplexed. She wants to stop me from attending rallies. The TMC can stop me from addressing rallies, but can’t stop the victory march of BJP in Bengal.”

Shah’s scheduled rally in Jadavpur Lok Sabha seat was called off on Monday after the state government denied him permission to land his chopper and hold a public address at Baruipur.

ow can KCR become PM with 16 seats?

For the last few days, Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders and Majlis-e-Ittahadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi have been making a big propaganda that chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao could as well become the Prime Minister of the country, if the TRS gets 16 MP seats in the Lok Sabha elections.

Their argument is that regional parties would get bigger number of seats than the BJP and the Congress party and therefore, they could form the government.

Since KCR with 16 seats would become a big force and he has been pushing forward the national agenda for development, all the regional parties will elect him as the Prime Minister.

This was ridiculed by BJP national president Amit Shah. Addressing a meeting at Shamshabad, Shah sought to know how winning sixteen seats in Telangana would make KCR the prime minister of the country.

“There is a Modi wave sweeping across the country. People of the nation want Modi as their prime minister one more time, only Modi can give a strong leadership to the country,” Shah said.

He said as long as KCR rubbed shoulders with the descendants of Razakars, he would not be able to make it to the national politics.

“KCR has no guts to celebrate the Telangana Liberation day, as he is afraid of antagonizing MIM.  KCR could not even expand his cabinet for three months even after winning the early elections with comfortable majority,” Shah criticized.
