Promotions of Mahesh Babu’s “Maharshi” have already begun. Every day, the makers are either releasing a song or a still or a juicy update about the film to generate hype around it.
Somehow, the film is not getting required hype as none of these promotional material is exciting enough.
The film’s budget has gone up Rs 110 Cr and its business has been closed around Rs 130 Cr (inclusive of theatrical, digital, satellite, Hindi dubbing rights). It is one of the expensive movies but there isn’t strong hype in corresponding way.
The team may have to come up with new ideas to generate excitement around it. The pre-release event should be planned in never before manner.
Due to this low hype, “Maharshi” overseas rights were sold for low prices.
Varun Tej has transformed into complete new look for “Valmiki” that is directed by ‘Gabbar Singh’ Harish Shankar.
On Thursday, Varun Tej joined the movie sets and he shared a photo of his look for the movie which is based on Tamil hit “Jigarthanda”.
He is sporting thick beard, curled hair and an earring. This is quite departure from his suave image.
Varun Tej is playing a role that was originally played by Bobby Simha in the original Tamil movie. This role has negative shades. Varun is experimenting in this film.
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan says he felt bad when “Zero” failed, and he hasn’t zeroed in on his next project till now.
“Unfortunately, ‘Zero’ itself wasn’t received too well back home in India. Maybe I made the wrong film, maybe I did not do the right storytelling so I am a little wary how it will be received here and I hope people here will like it,” Shah Rukh, who has been receiving a lot of love here, said in an interview to China Global Television Network (CGTN).
Shah Rukh’s “Zero” has been selected as the closing film of the Beijing International Film Festival 2019. The fest will close on April 20.
The 2018 film features SRK as a person with dwarfism in a love triangle with a scientist with cerebral palsy (actress Anushka Sharma) and a famous actress (Katrina Kaif). The actors were lauded for their performances. Despite a strong buzz and an ensemble cast, the film turned out to be a damp squib at the box office.
Looking back, he said: “When it went wrong, I felt bad. That it got rejected by so many people… when you make a film like that for three years and it goes wrong… you get not depressed or anything but…I didn’t want to see it. I am going to see it after three months. Maybe I will be able to figure out when I am away what went wrong with it.”
What’s his next project?
“I haven’t decided what I will do next. I thought I will take a few months off and try and work on what I want to do because it’s very important for me to be most excited about it. I have worked for 30 years, I work 16 hours a day, so if it doesn’t excite you in the morning, you should not wake up.
“At my stage, when I have worked in over 80 films, have done some satisfactory roles and have made a career out of what I do, I should be like I don’t want to get up and go if it’s not going to be an absolutely, stunning, scintillating and exciting day as an actor. So, right now I don’t have anything that’s stunning, scintillating and exciting, If I will have it, I will start working on it.”
Shah Rukh was overwhelmed to get a “warm and happy welcome”, as he tweeted “I am red all over”.
“When I walked out, suddenly they screamed… and for a moment I thought they were doing it for something else or someone else. Now I have gotten to know that they were from Xinjiang,” he said in the interview.
The actor, who owns a production house, feels “Indians should have a homegrown superhero”.
“Like Iron Man or Batman. Maybe we could do a film about Indian and Chinese superheroes… it will be really nice,” he said, going on to express his interest in acting in a Chinese movie only if he learnt Mandarin.
The actor feels cinema is a modern culture about telling stories and “storytelling and any art form is going to break barriers”.
“I know Chris Martin. But sometimes I don’t understand his accent, but I like his music. These things enhance people-to-people culture. Language of art is beyond semantics and grammar.”
At present, Gopi Sundar is busiest music composer in South India. He is much in demand in Tollywood after he delivered string of musical hits like “Premam”, “Geetha Govindam” and “Oopiri”. His recent musical hit is “Majili”.
But producers are not at all happy with his attitude despite his success rate. Gopi Sundar never completes work in time even as the release date fast approaches.
The producers of “Majili” had bad experience working with him. At one time, they had given up on him and roped in S S Thaman to finish the musical score for the movie which went on to become blockbuster.
Had Thaman not agreed to do the work, the film would not have released on April 5.
Gopi Sundar took full remuneration in advance for “Majili” but didn’t complete background score. So, the producers threatened to lodge complaint against him in the film chamber.
Upon knowing this, the Kochi-based music director has made a compromise with the makers and has agreed to part some money to the makers from his remuneration for the work Thaman has done.
he magic of Sai Pallavi and Prabhu Deva continues to create ripples on the YouTube.
Video of Rowdy Baby song has surpassed 400 Million views and is now posing a challenge to the Bollywood’s highest viewed videos of all time. Only ten videos from Bollywood were able to cross 400 Million mark till now!
Given the vast majority of people viewing Bollywood videos, Rowdy Baby getting 400 Million views is no mean feat.
The song is still getting millions of views every week and is set to cross the 500 Million mark very soon. Maari 2 is a flop at the box office, but the Rowdy Baby song has struck a chord with all the music lovers across the nation.
Yuvan Shankar Raja’s peppy tune and Prabhu Deva’s dance moves should get the credit, but it is Sai Pallavi’s fluid and graceful dance moves that made the viewers abuse the repeat button on YouTube.
It is a shame that none of the Telugu films had given Pallavi enough scope to exhibit her dancing skills. After all, Sai Pallavi has shot to fame with Dhee program, a reality dance show aired on ETV.
A TDP activist has complained against film director Ram Gopal Varma for allegedly posting a morphed picture on Facebook depicting TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu joining YSR Congress Party.
TDP activist Devibabu Chowdary filed the complained at Tadepalli Gudem rural police station in West Godavari district. “I complained against Ram Gopal Varma in Tadepalli Gudem rural police station in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. I had already complained in Telangana. Reason for present complaint is that he morphed the photo of Chandrababu Naidu as if he is joining in YSRCP and posted it on social media. That is provocative of our feelings,” said Chowdary.
“Ram Gopal Varma’s acts are disturbing the law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh. I complained to the police to take stern action against him. Police responded positively, said they will investigate the matter. They registered an FIR. Our fight will continue until Varma makes an open apology to Chandrababu Naidu,” he said.
“The complainant has alleged that Ram Gopal Varma had posted in his social media account the morphed photo of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu with derogatory comments. He even allegedly made unwarranted comments on his family members. We will take appropriate legal action, we will investigate the photo morphing issue,” said a police official.
Varma is said to have allegedly shared another picture on Facebook that includes satirical comments on Naidu, his son Nara Lokesh, daughter-in-law Brahmani, and her father Balakrishna.
Following the conclusion of polling for Andhra Pradesh assembly, both the Telugu Desam Party headed by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress party headed by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy are expressing confidence, at least for the public consumption, that they would come to power in the state.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has conceded defeat as its official spokesman G V L Narasimha Rao said YSRC is going to win the elections and BJP would replace the TDP as the main opposition in the next five years. The Congress is nowhere in the picture at all.
What is surprising is the silence being maintained by power star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan, who boasted earlier that his party would come to power in the elections.
He quietly went to the Dasavathara Venkateshwara temple at Mangalagiri and paid obeisance to the god. He served food to the devotees and also carried offering to the god.
Interestingly, Pawan, who had been sporting long hair and bushy beard, was found with a neat haircut and beard completely removed. He got back his filmy look though he appeared to have a little chubby face.
However, what was glaringly visible in his face was a philosophical look. Just before he visited the temple and had a haircut and shave, some photos released by party showing him sitting alone and listening to radio at his Mangalagiri party office clearly depicted that he was looking sad and philosophical.
Apparently, Pawan is reconciled to the fact that Jana Sena Party has failed to make any impact on the electorate and it might not win even half a dozen seats.
He is trying to put a composed look, but it is time for him to make some serious introspection as to whether politics is his cup of tea or not.
May be, he comes out with his stand soon after the results.

The actresses identified as Bhargavi (20) and Anusha Reddy (21) were returning to Hyderabad after completing shooting of a serial. Car driver Chakri and another person Vinay Kumar travelling in the same vehicle were injured.
