KCR takes potshots at BJP over Ram temple

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday said it was not job of the Prime Minister or political parties to decide where is the Ram Janmabhoomi.

In his first-ever comments on the issue, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief lashed out at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for pursuing politics of communalism.

Addressing an election rally in Nizamabad town, he said the political parties should work to solve people’s problems.

“Ram Janmabhoomi, Ravana Janmabhoomi, Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi. Do political parties need to decide this?” he asked and said these issues should be best left to seers and the religious heads.

“This is not the job of political parties. We should work to solve people’s problems, provide water and electricity to farmers, solve problem of unemployment and remove their hardships. If we go on talking of Janmabhoomi, it is not going to solve people’s problems,” he said.

KCR, as Rao is popularly known, said if there was a dispute between two communities, there were courts to deal with it. “The issue is in Supreme Court. We should not interfere,” he said.

“They say we are Hindus. Are we not Hindus. Are we not following Hindu traditions,” the TRS chief asked.

He alleged that for BJP leaders, Hindus were those who target people of other religions. “Hinduism has not said this. It asks you to respect all and love all.”

“Yours’ is political Hindutva. Ours is real Hindutva. You are duplicate Hindus. Your game will not last long,” said KCR.

At an election rally in Karimnagar on Sunday, KCR had said that he was an original Hindu. In response, BJP’s Telangana unit chief K. Laxman had asked him make his stand clear on the Ram Janmabhoomi issue.

“You first spell out whether your party is a political party working to solve people’s problems or it is a party to propagate religion,” KCR told Laxman.

Learning the ropes

Bothsa Satyanarayana, Dadi Veerabhadra Rao, Raghurama Raju, Butta Renuka etc, etc. All these politicians at one point of time or the other had criticized YS Jagan vehemently and quit his Party.

If something like this had happened in 2014 or after that, there was no way that Jagan would have welcomed them back into his Party. But, in taking them back now, he has clearly matured as a politician and learnt to keep his ego aside in the best interests of the Party.

There are many YSRCP hard-core supporters who feel that Jagan has made a mistake in readmitting them.

However, the reality is that these people need to be entertained owing to various reasons such as their caste, financial clout etc.

India is a country where a man accused of rape, murder or other heinous crimes may contest the election and still win simply because his community will vote for him or her irrespective of their reputation. Or, they may have enough money to sway the election in their favour.

YS Jagan has realised this fact and in doing so, has proved that he is acquiring all the necessary attributes to emerge as a successful politician.

In a surprise move, Pawan Kalyan is contesting from two assembly constituencies – Gajuwaka and Bhimavaram. He has announced this decision a while ago.

Gajuwaka is one of the assembly constituencies in the Visakhapatnam district. The constituency has highest population of Kapus. Media has been reporting that Pawan Kalyan would contest from here for many reasons.

However, he choosing Bhimavaram as other constituency came as a big surprise. It is known fact that Pawan Kalyan holds more impact in Godavari districts.

Perhaps, he wanted to hold his strength in this region by contesting here as second option.

Former Union Ministers M.M. Pallam Raju and J.D. Seelam are among the key candidates announced by the Congress for Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh.

Out of the total 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state, the Congress released the first list of candidates for 22 seats on Monday.

Pallam Raju will contest from Kakinada, a constituency which he has represented thrice in the past.

J.D. Seelam, a former minister and former Rajya Sabha member, will contest from Bapatla.

K. Bapi Raju, former Chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, will be the party candidate from Narsapur. Former MP Chinta Mohan will contest from Tirupati.

The Congress has also announced 132 candidates for the 175-member Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections. State party chief N. Raghuveera Reddy will contest from Kalyandurg.

The candidates for the remaining Assembly seats are likely to be announced in a day or two.

The Congress, which is going alone, drew a blank in the 2014 elections as the party faced a backlash for dividing the state to carve out Telangana state.

Harish ‘picture’ goes viral: KCR, KTR reduce him to a ‘village leader’!

A picture of TRS leader and MLA T Harish Rao sitting on the floor along with his supporters at his house in Siddipet has gone viral on social media.

The picture reflects the present pathetic condition of Harish Rao in TRS which even thousands of words can’t describe the amount of humiliation, isolation and insult he is being subjected to by KCR, KTR, Kavitha and Joginapally Santhosh Kumar.

Not only Harish supporters in TRS, even other leaders and cadre in TRS, Opposition parties and general public feel pity for Harish Rao at the way he is being ignored, sidelined in TRS, the party for which he worked day in and day out sincerely and committedly especially in times of trouble and crisis the party faced since its inception in 2001.

He was fondly called as ‘trouble shooter’ in TRS as Harish saved TRS and KCR from every crisis they faced during Telangana statehood agitation.

But after KCR became CM, he gave preference to his son KTR, daughter Kavitha and nephew J Santhosh Kumar and sidelined Harish gradually.

By the end of KCR’s first term and KCR retaining power for second term, the situation of Harish worsened to such an extent that he is now forced to confine to his residence in Siddipet. He can’t cover even his Medak district, let alone coming to Hyderabad.

With this, Harish is now holding ‘election campaign’ for TRS at his residence. He is sitting on the floor along with the people of Siddipet at his house and doing campaigning all through the day.

While KCR, KTR, Kavitha are addressing huge public meetings, visiting all the districts, poor Harish has been confined to his Siddipet house.

Except feeling pity for Harish, no leader or activist in TRS dare to question the injustice being meted out to TRS or come in support of him fearing KCR & Co.

They express anger in their internal discussions over how they reduced Harish from a ‘state level leader’ to a ‘village level leader’ like Sarpanch.

KCR’s National Party?

n March 3, 2018, KCR convened a press conference at his sprawling Pragathi Bhavan and announced that he would forge a “Federal Front” at the national level against the Congress and BJP.

As part of this plan, he said he would be touring all the States and meeting the regional party chiefs to bring them on board the federal front.

KCR said that he will work for bringing his Federal Front to power at Centre after 2019 Lok Sabha polls to bring a qualitative change in national politics and also in the overall development, which Congress and BJP had failed to do so in their 70-year rule.

Exactly, a year later, now, i.e. on March 18, 2019, KCR has announced in Karimnagar that he will set up his own ‘national party’ after Lok Sabha polls, which will come to power at the Centre with the combination of all regional parties.

His statement has now become a laughing stock at both national and local level. This is because his Federal Front vanished within few months as none of the major regional parties were willing to join hands with KCR.

His “Federal Front” dream died even before celebrating the first anniversary of its formation. Now, KCR is coming up with a proposal to start a ‘national party’.

Is it possible for KCR or TRS to set up a national party, while the fact remains that he or TRS is confined to just Telangana?

Moreover, a man who confines himself to Pragathi Bhavan or his farmhouse most of the time and is not accessible even to his ministers and MLAs, let alone common people, is talking about setting up a national party.

There are many historical reasons and blunders committed by Congress and TDP, which resulted in TRS winning the recent Assembly polls.

But now, KCR has become so over-confident and arrogant with his victory that he has started talking about ruling India, while the fact remains that he is a person who is confined only to Telangana and does not command the respect of any other regional party or leader.

Who will believe KCR’s national party when his Federal Front vanished within a year of its announcement?

Ajay Bhupati turned heads with his debut movie RX 100 that had set the box office on fire. RX 100 struck chord with the masses and youth and has become a huge hit for its budget.

Many of the medium range heroes have shown interest to work with Ajay Bhupati after the blockbuster success of RX 100.

Ram Pothineni had a formal agreement with Ajay while Nithin also had shown so much interest to work under him. But neither of the heroes stuck with him and Ajay Bhupati decided to work with Bellamkonda Srinivas.

The Jaya Janaki Nayaka actor was keen to work with Ajay at the beginning but later parted ways for reasons not known.

Ajay Bhupati is yet to start his second film with every actor snubbing him after few days.

Looks like the director has to go with a newcomer or an inexperienced actor as the established actors are not sticking with him.

The Congress party on Monday night named its Telangana state chief Uttam Kumar Reddy as the candidate from Nalgonda Lok Sabha seat while AICC secretary Madhu Goud Yashki will contest from Nizamabad.

The Congress party, which had announced candidates for eight Lok Sabha seats in Telangana on March 15, announced the candidates for eight more seats around midnight.

The party has not yet taken a decision on Khammam, from where former Union Minister Renuka Chowdhury is a contender for the party ticket.

Former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin and actress Vijaya Shanti, both former MPs and among the key aspirants, were ignored in the second list.

Uttam Kumar Reddy is currently a member of Telangana state Assembly. Madhu Yashki, who is in-charge of party affairs in Karnataka, will take on Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s daughter K. Kavitha in Nizamabad constituency.

Komatireddy Venkat Reddy (Bhongir), Mallu Ravi (Nagarkurnool) and Vamshi Chand Reddy (Mahabubnagar), who were defeated in Assembly elections held in December figured in the second list.

Firoz Khan, who too was defeated in Assembly polls, will take on Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi in Hyderabad.

Azharuddin was reportedly keen to contest from Secunderabad but the party preferred former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav.

The Congress has announced Dommati Sambaiah as the candidate for Warangal seat.
